Ingredients

      • 1 yellow onion, diced
      • 1 tablespoon grapeseed, avocado or sesame oil
      • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar or Balsamic Vinegar
      • 2 pounds Brussels Sprouts, whole
      • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
      • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
      • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
      • 1 teaspoon onion powder
      • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
      • ¼ cup of water
      • 1 teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
      • Salt and Pepper to Taste
      • Optional 1 tablespoon nutritional yeas

       

    Instructions

        1. In a large skillet, heat the oil, onions and vinegar over medium high heat. Cook until onions are soft and turning transluscent.
        2. Add Brussels, soy sauce, liquid smoke, smokes paprika, onion powder, garlic powder and water to the skillet and  cook for about 20 minutes or until Brussels sprouts are golden brown and fork tender, giving them a stir halfway through to ensure they cook evenly.
        3. Once caramelized, add the red pepper flakes, nutritional yeast if using and d sauté for 1 minute more. Remove from heat and season with salt and pepper. Serve as needed.
